The holiday season is upon us, and so the Zoink worker bees will leave the office to hang out with friends and family, build snowmen (if you’re spending your time in the north) or look at pictures of snow (if you’re in the south).
To round of this year, We thought we’d share this classic verse with you. Some changes might have been made though, let’s see if you can find them.
A Visit From The Zombie Vikings
Twas the night before Christmas, and all over Zoink
Not a creature was stirring, not even Oink;
The stockings were hung in the game room with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The Zoinksters were nestled all snug by their screens;
with Christmas-feels stirring right down to their spleens;
And artists with pencils, and devs with their code,
prepared for the vacay their boss had bestowed,
When through the whole office there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.
Away to the entrance I flew like a flash,
And as I was running, I heard a great splash,
The moon that was shining on walls white as snow,
Gave a lustre of nastiness to what was below,
‘Cause what for my wondering eyes had appeared,
But an old Zombie Viking with a quite slimy beard,
With a big and old tentacle ‘stead of an arm,
All Zoinksters were thrown back by Seagurd’s great charm,
More rapid than gnomes his friends they all came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now, Gunborg, Caw-Kaa! Now come little Hedgy!”
And forward they sprung, like a big Zombie medley,
They came from the stairway, they crashed through the wall,
So big and so dead and so eager to brawl!
And I drew my breath, no one dared say a word,
‘Cause first of all entered a big mighty bird.
Dressed all in feathers, from head down to foot,
with clothes that were tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of spikes were found behind her back,
A blue little creature, eager to attack,
His eyes – oh how hostile! His dimples, how scary!
A face like a hedgehog, with features so hairy!
And lastly there was a big amazon lady,
Whose smiles, while big, still did look a bit shady
And the hedgehog below, he gave out a loud squeek,
when she gave him a bone piece to chew with his teeth.
Then a piggy ran in, with a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave us to know we had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying a tentacle close to his nose,
Seagurd whispered “I promise, there’s games there, not clothes”.
And they sprang out the door as they shouted and whistled,
and away Caw-Kaa flew like the down of a thistle.
But we heard them exclaim, as they brawled out of sight –
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
